School Grounds Competition
*

South & South East in Bloom encourages young people of all ages to become involved in projects to improve school grounds, increase environmental awareness and encourage an interest in growing fruit and vegetables.
The judging looks at the cultivation of flowers, fruit and vegetables together with conservation efforts on the site and what actions are taken to promote a sustainable approach to the environment.
Judging usually takes place in early June for about an hour. The results are announced before the end of the summer term and every school entering receives a certificate with special awards being made to overall, regional and county winners.
