Historically, many people primarily viewed “Bloom” as a means of creating large floral arrangements and hanging baskets filled with annual flowers, which can be pretty costly. However, since the early 2000s, the focus has shifted significantly! The 2026 program, which will soon open for entries, emphasises gardening and horticulture in all their forms. It aims to ensure environmental responsibility and community involvement. Participants are also encouraged to address crucial local issues, including climate change, resource conservation, and the protection of biodiversity and pollinators.

To inquire about getting involved, understand entry requirements, or submit an entry, navigate to the fifth tab at the top of the website (the pink one), click on “Selection,” choose the South & South East in Bloom region, and select the category you wish to enter. Fill in your contact details and the name of your entry before clicking “Submit.”
