Judges & Assessors

Every year, our team of skilled judges and assessors visits each entry to evaluate it against the set criteria. Depending on the size, visits can last from one to four hours. For all categories, one judge or assessor visits. After the visit, judges assess how well the entry meets the criteria and recommend an award. Our award system celebrates everyone’s efforts to improve their local environment, with recognition based on achievements rather than a simple pass-or-fail or first pass the post..

The awards are:

Medal Guide:

• Gold, Excellent 85-100 Points;
• Silver Gilt, Very Good 75-84 Points;
• Silver, Good 60-74 Points;
• Bronze, Satisfactory 50-59 Points.

Category winners get trophies, and all attendees at the awards have their photo taken for promotional use. All entries receive a report and the scores achieved under the various criteria.
