South & South East in Bloom welcomes entries from community groups or foe groups of volunteers who are working to improve the place where they live. This scheme is open to any small group of residents who have come together to improve an area, or undertake a one-off project. Any group can enter; a street, a close or residential area, an allotment, a sports club etc. The only proviso’s being there must be hands on gardening (or conservation effort) and must be composed of local people. Its free to enter, it’s not competitive and everyone receives a Royal Horticultural Society Certificate in the grades 1-5, with 5 being the highest award. Entries are visited by an assessor who will visit between the 18th June and the 13th July and spend up to an hour on site. the assessor will provide advice and a report highlighting the successes and advising on what might be improved. Entries will also be invited to the annual awards ceremony which will be at the Amex Stadium, Brighton on the 14th September 2018.
