We are keen to encourage all railway stations to enter this category, highlighting the amazing work of community groups and volunteers across the region. Station gardens and green spaces are an important part of South Western Railway’s push to improve biodiversity, and we look forward to celebrating the railway’s many green-fingered volunteers and biodiverse stations – as part of its Railway 200 celebrations – a year of activities to mark the beginning of the modern railway in 1825.
